Welcome to our living room! This is where we spend most of our time at. Other than watching TV, playing Nintendo Switch, this is also where the kids usually play. Probably because the air circulation at level one is better, the kids preferred to play here instead of the playroom.
As the living room is a long rectangular space, we tried to break it by placing a L-shaped sofa so as to segregate the TV area and the chilling area, where the piano and airmocks are.
We chose large wall arts to spruce up this space. Since we don't want our living room to be too "cold", we tried to add more warm colours in our decoration items and soft furnishings like cushions.
As you can see, we have a rather big space in front of the sofa. We decided not to have a coffee table here so that the kids can run around freely. When we were down with covid previously and had to isolate at home, I remembered the kids played their scooters in our living room! At that point of time, we were really thankful to have this big space. We were also thinking to place a rug in front of the sofa but decided against it as the kids have sensitive nose and they love to play while lying on the floor.
As the staircase landing area is kinda empty, we placed an entryway table here. This entryway table has some storage where we put the kids' school bags in it.
This is the other side of the living room where we have our built-in shoes cabinet along the corridor windows. We wanted to have a mirror here for us to check all is good before heading out. After looking for inspiration, we decided to go for something minimal. This mirror from HipVan catches our eyes! We are very satisfied with how it matches the aesthetic of our home perfectly!
