As you can see, we have a rather big space in front of the sofa. We decided not to have a coffee table here so that the kids can run around freely. When we were down with covid previously and had to isolate at home, I remembered the kids played their scooters in our living room! At that point of time, we were really thankful to have this big space. We were also thinking to place a rug in front of the sofa but decided against it as the kids have sensitive nose and they love to play while lying on the floor.

This is the other side of the living room where we have our built-in shoes cabinet along the corridor windows. We wanted to have a mirror here for us to check all is good before heading out.
