Hey there! It might surprise you to know that I've never been a plant person. I mean, I admire their beauty, but the thought of tending to them always seemed like a lot of work. I'm not exactly what you'd call "green-thumbed."
So, how did I end up with a house full of plants, both real and faux? Well, it all started with a promise to my mom. She's currently living overseas and entrusted me with the care of her beloved plants. Feeling a sense of responsibility, I agreed.
While I still rely on my helper for guidance and assistance, I've come to appreciate the calming presence of plants in my home. It's amazing how they can transform a space. They add a touch of life, colour, and warmth, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. But I cheated too, as a plant-dummy (hehe) I bought a handful of dried plants/pampas to accentuate rustic-boho vibes!
In this post, I'll share some of my favourite tips for creating a bohemian and vibrant indoor greenery, even if you're not a born plant lover like me. Stay tuned!
As I mentioned before, I'm not exactly a plant parent. But that doesn't mean I can't create a lush and vibrant home. In fact, I've found some amazing ways to incorporate greenery into my space without all the fuss of real plants.
Take a look at my little corner. Next to our home sign, there a couple of cute succulent-like faux plants, and a vibrant Pothos plant. Now, I know what you're thinking - "But isn't that a real plant?" And you’re right! However, I've chosen a low-maintenance variety that thrives in low-light conditions. Perfect for me, since my entrance doesn't get a lot of natural light.
Here, you’ll noticed that our living room is often blessed with natural light-To create that bohemian rustic charm to blend with the terracotta paint & soothing-vibes (with natural light in mind), I've incorporated a mix of faux and dried plants. The faux plants add a touch of greenery and life, while the dried plants bring a natural, earthy feel. I've placed them in rattan vases to complement the overall boho aesthetic.
I've added a touch of greenery with a faux plant cascading down the wall lamp. This simple addition instantly adds a touch of nature and complements the warm terracotta wall and rattan mirror. It's a great way to add visual interest and texture to your space without taking up any floor space.
Take a look at my TV console. To add a touch of life and greenery, I've placed a faux plant in a galvanized pot. The cascading vines add a sense of movement and texture, while the silver pot complements the warm wood tones of the console.
The natural light streaming through the window highlights the plant, making it look even more realistic. It's a simple yet effective way to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in our living room.
On the other end of my TV console, I've added a touch of natural elegance with a ceramic Nordic vase adorned with a jute ribbon. Inside, I've arranged some fluffy pampas grass. The soft, feathery texture of the pampas grass adds a touch of boho chic to the space, while the simple yet stylish vase complements the overall aesthetic.
This arrangement not only adds visual interest but also creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's a perfect example of how you can incorporate natural elements into your home decor with dried plants ( if you are a plant-dummy like me, that is! 🤭)
Here's a fun and creative way to style your pampas grass. I've placed a bunch of pampas grass in a terracotta cup and placed it on our key holder. This adds a touch of whimsy and bohemian charm to the space. Shades of terracotta of the cup complements the neutral tones of the pampas grass and our wall; creating a harmonious and “rustic”atmosphere.
Here's a simple yet stunning way to style your dried pampas grass. I've placed a bunch of pampas grass in a nordic ceramic vase with a unique cutout design. The vase complements the organic shape of the pampas grass, creating a visually appealing arrangement.
I've placed this arrangement on my dining table, surrounded by colorful embroidered cushions. The natural light streaming through the window highlights the delicate texture of the pampas grass, making it look even more beautiful. This simple addition instantly elevates the dining table and adds a touch of boho chic to the space.
To add a touch of green without the fuss, I've included some faux plants in the mix. The dried pampas grass paired with these fake plants creates a beautiful, low-maintenance display that fits right into the boho vibe. The rattan basket adds a natural touch and complements the overall look.
This little corner is a plant-free oasis, proving that you don't need a green thumb to have a green thumb-worthy space.
And that’s a wrap! Until next time,
Happy decorating! 🪴
