This week's post we are featuring our vanity room. We converted a bedroom to build custom carpentries for our wardrobe and vanity. Hope you'll enjoy this post! 
As we are a young couple with no kids in a 5 rm BTO, we had 2 other rooms (other than the master bedroom) For bedroom 1 - we use it as our work from home/gaming room For bedroom 2 - we partially hack the wall between this bedroom and our master bedroom to create a walk in wardrobe. The rationale for partially hacking instead of fully hacking is 1) If we hack the entire stretch of wall and fully open up the master bedroom, we would need to get a 18k BTU aircon to cool the entire area (which adds cost if you sleep with aircon on a daily basis) 2) Walls are actually useful to help create partition and also provide an area where you can hang wall art, shelves, TV, etc. If we hack the entire stretch of wall, we will have to find other walls to concentrate decors to. Focusing onto only the vanity area, we got our ID to built this table next to the window. You might be wondering why we choose to have the vanity right next to the window right? It's because missus need to see how her make up looks under natural lighting! It is not very hot as all our windows are fitted with solar film. We also asked the ID to build a display cabinet for us to display our bags, perfumes and watches. Following the japandi theme, our laminates are from panaplast, 'loft birch'. We also have a 3000k warm light installed above the mirror, for night time use when we are putting on our skincare. Our curtains are from Coesa (formerly END Curtains). These are sheer curtains and it really helps to create the calm and relaxing mood you would experience in a ryokan. Zooming onto the vanity, we have 3 shelves that we use to put our skincare, hair tools and jewelleries. These shelves are also fitted with LED. To make everything within reach, it is important to buy organisers!! You can easily buy these off shopee, just search 'skincare organisers'. We are strong believers that everything in the house should have its 'home', otherwise it would just look messy and untidy. That's all about it folks! :D Short post but we will keep it coming. Having our own vanity is really a dream come true for us. Growing up we do not have the luxury of having our own vanity ROOM and being able to achieve this within our own means has been very rewarding. See you all in the next post!
