Hello there, we are the buns, a family of three! Welcome to our mid-century boho inspired home where we moved in 3 years ago. We wanted to create a space where we can unwind and feel fully rested when we come home from a long day of work, so we have picked the dark, earthy and neutral hues for the overall renovation and furnitures. We might have made a little too cozy that we have friends and family who came over just fall asleep on our couch and even on the floor.
Unlike the trend of hacking down walls for bigger spaces, we added a partition at the main entrance to create an entryway. That small space that we carved out act as a buffer for us - this is where we turn off the "outside mode" and switch back to "back-at-home mode". The partition also adds a bit more privacy for us, since it prevents people from looking in.
We also built a wall at the end of the kitchen to separate the laundry room from the kitchen. The laundry room is where we keep our cleaning tools and supplies, so by adding a wall, it helps to hide the unglamorous things behind.
To balance out the dark tones, we like to use soft furnishings that are more vibrant in colours. Like our daisy throw blanket from Taobao, it instantly adds life to our living room. Plus, it is too cute not to buy.

We wanted the house to have a bit of bohemian vibes, and we manage to do so by adding bits and pieces of rattan furnishings around the house. We love the rattan lamp shade that we bough from Taobao. Many mahjong sessions had happened underneath this rattan lamp.
Gold accent is essential in mid-century look. We bought a pair of drawer knobs from Anthropology during our honeymoon trip in the UK. They look perfect on the TV console that we got on Taobao. Plus, they also reminds us of the great time we had :)
