Here's a sneak peek at our living room - the space that greets you once you enter our rental apartment!
The apartment came partially furnished with some of the landlord's furniture, so we had to be creative in transforming the living room into something that was cosy and inviting!
Read on to find out more :)
The apartment came furnished with the landlord's sofa, which was a huge item that we were unable to swap out for something else.
Since the sofa was a neutral colour, we decided to get a cotton sofa cover, which was a great way to refresh the living space. The upside of this was also extra protection, in the event that there are any unexpected spills or stains!
We also added a knitted throw blanket with tassels for a cosier look, so that the sofa looks comfy and inviting. Trust us, our friends have accidentally snoozed on this set-up so many times :)
You will be welcomed by this view when you enter our apartment - sofa on the left side, TV and console on the right.
We find that the day curtains do a great job of creating a welcoming and comfortable vibe in the day!
We also try switch things up every once in a while - for instance, different throws to mix and match with the sofa / sofa covers.
Home fragrances is another huge tip of ours to create a cosy, inviting space, be it for relaxing or for hosting friends.
We keep a variety of home fragrances on rotation, and here's a glimpse at what we're currently using:
✿ Diffuser from Hooga
✿ Scented Candle from Zara Home (a great mid-range option)
✿ Scented Candle from Loewe (for days when you want to treat yourself!)
✿ Palo Santo Stick / Incense Holder
Diffusers are the best if you want to have a pleasant scent in different spaces, as they're extremely low maintenance and only require switching the reed sticks every once in a while.
Do place them in airy spaces with good ventilation for best results!
The living room is a great space for us to relax and unwind, as well as host our friends. We love that we can easy switch up the vibes of the living room with different pieces of decor, ranging from cushions and throws, to home fragrances.
Here is also one of my favourite spots to enjoy a fresh cuppa joe on weekends - perhaps more on our coffee set-up next time :)
