Hello everyone! Today will be our final renders VS reality series because we only had 4 renders from our ID. Other than our master bathroom, our entryway laminate also gave us a huge headache, but it turned out well in the end. This image shows our final rendering. (Notice the suspended settee in our final and first rendering! Without further ado, let the pictures do the talking!
  • We feel the colour is less warm in real life, but we love it for the minimalist colour with a slight textured surface. It complements well with neutral coloured house designs. We are pretty sure this laminate is quite unique to us. We really have not seen anyone use this… Because while gathering opinions during our laminate selection stage, we didn’t get a lot of feedback on this actual laminate. More details and thoughts follow!

The main reason other than wanting an entryway that speaks character but blends well in a minimalist home design, was that this big piece of laminate can be seen from our kitchen gallery view. It sorta had to match well with our kitchen design, right?

We didn’t want this to be another bold or impulsive move we make in our renovation, so while deciding on our kitchen laminates, we also requested for multiple samples directly from Lamintak to help visualise and feel the laminates. Postage was a dollar in 2023. Samples were free 😂 Psst. The center laminate was our original kitchen bottom laminate as well as our entryway’s.
  • Our first rendering using SCARPA BETON laminate. Honestly, loved the actual laminate for its texture and seemingly dark colour. However, the texture came in multiple forms like lines, dots, and glossy lines. The laminate colour also didn’t sit so well with us. Someone commented it gave off the “moss” vibes 😂
  • We also tried the cloud cement series and holy moly, we found it very airy and pleasing to the eyes. Those who followed us on our renovation journey would know that we had such a hard time deciding between this and our final choice. But just one comment from the Mr and we decided to scrape this, “looks too safe and seems every house looks like this”. (Anyway our friend uses this for her kitchen and it’s also slightly textured!) We decided not to go with this but we think it is very compatible with many home interior designs.

A surprising fact when choosing SCARPA BETON as our laminate: Our first rendering uses the older version, while our final rendering used the newer version. We were also quite shocked and confused when our ID showed us the newer version, but with the same code. The newer version was a milder version but with similar characteristics. We decided to “just do it” because it struck our heartstrings and it was best of both worlds!
