Our cosy retreat! The master bedroom is our sanctuary, a place where we unwind after a hard day's work. We wanted it to solely be for resting (which is why we didn't install a TV!) and stepping into it every night makes us feel like we're on a staycation at a boutique hotel! #vibes
Blackout curtains were a must-have because 🧑🏻 works shifts and will take his naps after coming back from work in the morning. These curtains are also marvellous on weekends when we have the luxury of time to catch a few more hours of shut eye without the sun shining into the room and interrupting our beauty sleep.
If you noticed the fluted-glass mild steel doors, then you might have guessed that this is another feature we use to facilitate 🧑🏻 being a shift worker. On days when either of us needs to get up to work in the morning without the other, the doors can be closed to prevent the sharp glare of the lights waking up the other party. With the doors closed, it also helps to create an illusion of a walk-in wardrobe with an en-suite bathroom. We also installed LED lights within the wardrobe, further cutting down the glare if we just need to change our outfits!
Our fluted master bathroom door is custom-made and can be swung both inwards and outwards - this actually makes things quite convenient! Albeit not being completely opaque, it doesn't really matter because it's just the two of us, hehe. 😉
The warm down lights and the fluted glass further enhances the "boutique hotel" vibe.
Little additions such as this bedside table and pendant light add to the aesthetic of the room and encapsulates our overaching theme in the bedroom as well.
Notice how our bedside table is in line with the mattress? This wasn't really planned, but let us know if you're particular about these small details!
