Welcome to our humble abode! Our place is a ~1200sqft resale unit in Bishan.
Post Nth number of viewings, we were drawn by the size of this unit, its long and vertical layout and the large window panels surrounding the house, which meant that we could maximize natural lighting.
We were instantly convinced that we have finally found our dream home. Firstly, for its central location, and secondly, for the transformational potential of the layout, where we could convert into a more organic and functional space for both of us.
Ta-da, this was the space reimagined by our ID! We were so pleased with it from the get-go.
An open-concept kitchen was a non-negotiable aspect when it came down to selecting our place, and we could hacked the main kitchen wall in order to further open up the space.
One of the key changes was switching up the entrance direction to the common bathroom, to improve the flow of our space, as well as to cater space for the fridge and kitchen cabinets. We also converted our store room space for the walk in wardrobe by combining two of the bedrooms as our master bedroom and study room.
Pinterest was our major source of ideas and inspiration. From wooden furnitures to earthy colours, we were drawn by the mid-century modern style for its simple and contemporary feel.
Instead of a minimalistic look that most home owners tend to gravitate towards these days, we wanted to create a more cosy and lived in look.
