Smart, calming and curvy – sounds like what you would like in a partner? :P How about in your Master Bedroom (MBR)!
Smart – Our smart home system controls the lighting, air-conditioning, fan, blinds and TV in our MBR.
Calming – To create a calm and cosy ambience we opted for a light-coloured palette and soft lighting.
Curvy – We’ve incorporated curves throughout our MBR – the carpentry, false ceiling, bed frame, and even the door to the Master Bathroom!
The pièce de resistance of the MBR! We knew we wanted a mirror-ed door, which doubles up as a full-length mirror for our OOTDs.
What we did not plan for was for it to be a set of French doors. We’d wanted a full door initially, but it would have hit our bathroom’s carpentry.
But things worked out in the end, because the French doors look even more aesthetically pleasing!
Moving on to the vanity area! We requested for a niche at the side, for easy access to our HomePod Mini, Dyson AirWrap, and other commonly used items (skincare, makeup, pefume).
With our smart home system, we are able to make voice commands to the HomePod Mini.
For example, when it is time for bed, “Hey Siri, switch off the master bedroom lights” will automatically switch off all the lights, without us having to get out of bed.
As mentioned earlier, these voice commands can be used not only for the lights, but also for our air-conditioning, ceiling fan, blinds and TV.
Being able to make these voice commands is especially useful for a sleepy bum like me, who struggle to wake up in the mornings (yawn)!
Curves are incorporated throughout our home, even the false ceiling and aircon box-up!
Together with the cove lights, these curves make the MBR look even more soft and cosy.
Not to forget, we have a curvy TV feature wall too!
Thanks for reading, and we hope that our MBR has given you some inspo for your home!
