Hi there, and welcome to the biggest area in our home!
To help make the space look wider, we opted for 900x900mm floor tiles. The marble-like finish of the tiles adds a touch of luxe to the home.
Similar to our master bedroom (check out our previous post if you haven’t already!), our smart home system controls the lighting, air-conditioning, fan, curtains and TV in our living room.
Here we have the hubs’ pride and joy – our 83” LG G4 TV. Hidden within the TV console are his PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch consoles. We went with the fluted design, with gaps for the consoles to “breathe” so that they won’t overheat during gaming sessions.
To create a surround sound system, we also placed speakers at the front and back of the living room. Apart from the sound, we also love how the colour and rounded edges of our Sonos speakers fit in with our theme.
Moving on to the back of our living room.
Apart from the Sonos speakers, we also have a fluted feature wall with shelves, to add some interest to an otherwise plain white wall.
As for the sofa, we wanted to stick with the white/cream/gold theme, and opted for a cream-coloured sofa made with aquaclean fabric. Aquaclean fabric is said to be stain-resistant, and it has held up pretty well so far! Our sofa is motorised as well, which is great for movie nights.
The false ceiling and recessed lights help make our living room ceiling look clean and seamless.
During the aircon piping process, we realized that we had to box up the living room aircon. This was not planned; but we made it work by opting for a curved aircon box-up!
While it was slightly more pricey, we opted for S-fold curtains instead of the traditional pleated curtains, as they look more soft and modern.
We hooked up the track to a AOK motor as well, so that we can control the curtains using our smart home system.
We hope you enjoyed this tour of our living room!
