We're diving right into this post - the small details and decisions that we intentionally made, and are making our lives easier now. Right off the bat, we purposefully thought about our the utilisation of kitchen space a lot during our renovation phase. And that helped us plan things according to where they are right now. For instance, our dishwasher is placed right next to the kitchen sink so when needed, we are able to rinse the crockery and utensils, and have it move straight into the dishwasher without dirtying the entire kitchen floor. If we had placed the dishwasher on the other side of the kitchen, we would be dripped water and oily stuff around the kitchen floor a lot. Moving onto the left side of the kitchen sink is our cooking area. We planned for the area right under the kitchen sink to be for our pots and pans for easy access, and for the condiments drawer to be right beside the hob. It was also intentional that our condiments drawer is on the left with the mindset of holding a spatula with our right hand and pouring the sauces and pepper with our left hand. We also decided to have a quartz countertop and backsplash for the more seamless look. This also reduces the grout lines along the backsplash that would make it more difficult to keep this space clean with all the cooking that we do. It is super easy and fuss-free for us to spray a few times of multi-surface cleaner solution and wipe down the entire space. 
Our main kitchen switches are also concealed under the top kitchen cabinets. For ease of knowing which switch is for which appliance, they are all labelled so our family and friends who come over also know which switch to turn on when they need to use it. Having the switches concealed also makes everything neater and the look more seamless. 
Moving into our dining room, we have our solid wood dining table. We do wax it with some beeswax every month or when it looks dull. This is how it looks with it just being waxed earlier today. 
Our entire home is filled with the exact same tile, except both bathrooms. We chose to have these grey tiles in 60x60 format. Having everything in the same tile means that the space looks like one full space instead of any demarcation to make the space smaller. And bigger tiles means lesser grout lines! Are these things that you've also considered in your home renovation process too? If not, maybe it is time to think about them and edit your space before it's too late!
