This will be a rather short post because there are literally just 2 pieces of main furniture in our entryway 🤭 There is no build-in carpentry at all, be it for storage or seating
The immediate thing one sees upon opening the door - a plain, white wall. With ample sunlight coming through from the long length of windows along the side
The two main pieces of furniture - a standing, long-length mirror leaning against the wall & a (beautiful) cabinet with fluted doors meant for footwear storage
As mentioned in previous posts, our home has very little build-in carpentry as I personally prefer loose furniture to manipulate with. Most carpentry work also give off too luxurious a design that I didn't particularly want
Besides, we don't have a lot of footwear and I hope to keep it that way 🫣
Very noticeable here - there is this hugeee space along the windows, beside the sofa, that we have deliberately kept empty. We like that there is nothing here, allowing the main living area to look amply spacious and the sunlight to come through without any obstruction
Also, it is vvv important to have entrance lights! This is something I reiterate several times 🤭 It has been so convenient to come home at nights and have the light switch just beside the main door - I turn on the entrance lights without even stepping into the house yet
One more tip - have some dry towels/cloths near the main door too! This has been extremely useful during rainy days where one's feet would be all wet and dirty, and no one wants to step into a clean house with them 🥺
Because of this specific spot, we have been able to remain standing at the main door, simply turn/twist our torso to open the door and reach our arms to retrieve the towels 😌
