still on the topic of toilets haha... this time our masterbedroom toilet... the place where we retreat to have some quiet time to ourselves...therefore I wanted a calm and soothing theme for our bathroom. As we had the luxury of space, we could put in a 1.5m bath tub and we opted for a free standing one instead of an in built one. Some of our considerations in why we chose a free standing tub are listed below: Pros of a free standing bath tub **can move the tub easily for repairs or to wash the floor below it **cheaper than an inbuilt one ** easy to remove if we want to get rid of it on the future as it s not molded down to the floor Cons: X more flimsy than an inbuilt one. not sure if it's just the tub that we got but the material sounds hollow. X the tub is supported at only the 4 corners so plumber advised us not to jump on the middle or step too heavily in the middle. Also our first 3D, ID proposed that the rainshower head be above the bath tub,meaning that we had to step into the bath tub everytime we wanted to bathe. As we plan to stay here long term, I cannot imagine day in day out for the next 10 years, stepping into and out of the bathtub. Can u imagine at age 50 still climbing in and out? haha.. Then I saw on tiktok someone put the shower area just beside the bath tub and sent it to my Id who thought that it was a great idea too! But by doing that, we had to seal up the original bathroom door to get the space required and jack another door. But i think it's all worth it cos I do not want to have to always think of safety precautions when I bathe. Bathtime is a time for relaxation and not abt thinking whether wld the bath tub crack under our weight anytime.😅 I really love the choice of our wall and floor tiles. it's the same tile to make the bathroom seem more spacious and the light grey stone colour really brings about a cozy and warm theme in the bathroom. We also opt for gun metal fittings as we heard that black fittings tend to peel and fade off after time. Chose a white stone sink bought from ezybuy to pair with the latte laminate for our customised vanity cabinet, topped it off with linate slate kompacplus countertop. Do you like this design of our master bathroom? Would you like to have a bath tub? The ambient light at the countertop also makes the space inviting... Our kids love soaking themselves in the bath tub and this makes it a worthy investment so far! We often joked that we no longer need to do staycations in hotels anymore since we have a bath tub and a pool downstairs! 😅
