Welcome to our dining area! This area was initially a study room but we reckon that we don't need so many rooms, we decided to hack it down and place our dining table here.
Some Executive Maisonette owners chose to have their dining table around the stairs area but we thought that layout actually made the area look a bit cluttered. Hence, we decided to make use of the study room space instead.
Apart from having our meals here, the kiddos also did their homework, painting, crafts and even play here! Our dining area is also where the husband will be at when he work from home.
Probably because this area is well ventilated and also the ceiling fan cool this area down, so all of us prefer to do our stuff here instead of the study table at level two.
Right behind our dining table is a stretch of full height cabinet. As our storeroom (under the stairs) is not very accessible, we know that we need storage space that we can reach out easily.
The husband has a small collection of BearBrick and so he requested the ID to include display shelving to put his collection and also to add some playful character to the dining area.
Having a ceiling fan was a top priority when we were planning for our renovation. In our previous bto home, we do not have a fan near our dining area so it was really warm when we had our meals. Of coz, having a ceiling fan also means that your food will turn cold much faster. But we don't mind as long as we are not sweating.
We chose wooden dining table that is of lighter shade to add "warmth" to this area. As you can see that we have an open kitchen and all our cabinets are in white so it's kinda cold. In order to warm this area up, we decided to go for wooden table and chairs of lighter shade. Somehow this colour combi makes the entire area looks more cozy.
