  • Welcome to my semi-open kitchen—a space where functionality meets comfort, all without any renovations! Working with the existing layout, my focus has been on optimising storage, workflow, and efficiency. Over time, I’ve developed a system that keeps everything in order, allowing me to enjoy cooking without the chaos. Here’s a peek into my setup and the strategies that make it all work!

Dealing with the constraints of a compact kitchen means making the most of every available corner. Even a small niche beside the refrigerator can be transformed into a functional storage solution with the help of a magnetic pull-out rack, offering both convenience and efficiency in organising your essentials.
  • This magnetic pull-out rack has been a game-changer! It’s where I stash, pantry essentials and and oils, all neatly clipped or boxed to avoid spills and clutter. The white wire rack not only looks clean but allows easy access to items at a glance. I love using bag clips to keep packages sealed—so simple yet so effective. By making use of vertical storage, I’ve created an organised space that’s easy to maintain and visually tidy.
  • An adjustable pot and plate rack is a must-have when it comes to keeping your cupboard neat and organised! It allows you to customise the spacing to fit pots, lids, and plates of various sizes, ensuring everything has its designated spot. No more struggling with a precarious stack of cookware or hunting for mismatched lids! With this versatile solution, I can easily access what I need while maintaining a tidy and streamlined cupboard, making my kitchen workflow smoother and more efficient.
  • Utensils can quickly turn into a tangled mess, but not here! Drawer organisers are my secret weapon for keeping everything in its place. From wooden spoons to graters and tongs, each item has its own designated compartment. I even use smaller trays for those oddly-shaped tools like peelers and wine openers. This setup makes it effortless to find what I need while cooking, and it’s incredibly satisfying to open a drawer that’s always neat.
  • In a compact kitchen, making the most of every inch is essential, and this drill-free hook system under the cabinet is a clever solution for storing mugs. It’s incredibly easy to install, requires no tools, and frees up valuable shelf space while keeping mugs within easy reach. This simple addition not only maximises storage in a small kitchen but also adds a functional and stylish touch, proving that even small details can have a big impact on space optimisation.
  • In my compact kitchen, organisation is key to creating a space that feels functional and enjoyable. Over time, I’ve found that the most important thing is discovering what works best for you and your comfort. For me, it’s about combining practical solutions with habits that suit my daily routine. I’ve learned to think vertically—using wall-mounted racks, hooks, and stackable shelves to maximise storage space. Investing in the right organisers, like drawer dividers and shelf baskets, has been a lifesaver, ensuring everything has its place. And finally, decluttering regularly helps me keep only the things I truly use, preventing overcrowding. By focusing on these methods, I’ve turned my small kitchen into a space that feels spacious, efficient, and, most importantly, comfortable. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming—building habits and finding solutions tailored to your needs can make a world of difference. I hope my setup inspires you to create a kitchen you love spending time in.
