Hello everyone, I'm excited to share with you on the overview of my living room - inspired by The Ritz Carlton, Singapore during a staycation few years back.
To accentuate this compact living space, neutral tones were maintained to exude a brighter and airier interior with natural light coming in from the window.
For reference, this was the Grand Marina Guest Room from Ritz Carlton that I stayed in. It features a sofa bed and a small bay window with Marina Bay view.
The room made me feel like home as I lounged at ease on their oversized plush daybed comfortably. In the night, there brings a sense of tranquility while sitting silently on the window sill.
The quest to look for a one-arm sofa similar to that of Ritz Carlton's thus started.
Point of view (POV) from the sofa - this 55 inches TV was wall mounted on partition wall, reinforced with wood support.
In view of cleaning convenience and space constraint, we ditched the traditional fan for a bladeless one from Dyson, while also keeping health in check with the air purifying function.
POV from the TV:
Just as I was about to give up on looking for a one-arm sofa similar to that of Ritz Carlton's, I came across Cozylant. They are a homegrown online company that ticks off all my checklist without breaking a bank!
1. leg space high enough to reach underneath for cleaning
2. wallet-friendly
3. design without seat and backrest divider for a more cohesive look
If you're looking to customize a sofa without burning a hole in your pocket, I highly recommend Cozylant. Do check them out if you're keen!
This coffee table was carefully chosen to match the style of the living room with its built-in storage to keep clutters out of sight.
I love how this one from Nitori comes with a part of it in hydraulic storage, which can also serve as an elevated table, and the other end with a side drawer.
This TV console from Taobao was chosen to match its height with the bay window, forming an almost seamless flow to it.
My ID suggested to get this rattan design to match the Nordic Scandi theme, however, the colour looked slightly off from the photos that we saw online...
The plan was to conceal this part of the bomb shelter ventilation sleeve with a wall clock. However, just as I was admiring the aesthetics of the clock with this backdrop, the 3M command strip that was used to hang it gave way in less than a minute!
I would be thankful if there's any homeowners who can share a trick or two to keep the hook secured on the metal plate!
Update:
I finally found the solution to hanging my wall clock on the ventilation sleeve - 3M Command Hook (for items up to 1.2kg)
This 30cm wall clock from Taobao weighs 700g according to the seller. The 3M hook that I initially used was meant for lighter objects, and I didn't wait to allow the adhesive bond to reach maximum strength, hence the fall.
Amazing how this Nordic clock in wood design switches the feel of the living space on a whole!
Tada! The sofa looks different now isn't it? This sofa cloth cover in beige is 180cm x 260cm, just a nice fit for my 200cm one arm sofa.
It has a velvety soft cotton touch to it and amazing how its design can instantly refresh the living space!
A practical tip that I think it's good to incorporate not just into an area but the whole house is switch labels.
With so many switches meant for different uses around the house, it is an essential to help family and guests to identify them with these stickers, bringing convenience to everyone!
You can easily get them from Shopee, with a myriad of varieties to suit your needs.
I hope that you enjoyed this overview of my living room.
