Hello there~
We’re thrilled to be one of Hipvan’s S7 ambassador!
Welcome to Our Cosy Abode. 👩🏻❤️👨🏽
We’re a couple living in a 3-room BTO (70sqm) flat located in the East. Can’t wait to share with you more in this series! You can also find us on Instagram: @ourcosy.abode
Our place comes with brown vinyl floorings provided by HDB (everyone in our estate cannot opt out from it). Since the colour of the floor was already pre-determined, we decided to just stick to it and design our place with neutral colours to bring about warmth and comfort. 🤎✨🤍
After all, we want our home to be our cosy haven, where we can relax and unwind after a long day at work! 🥰
PS if you're wondering: vinyl flooring comes from Envy Flooring/ City Surfer, in shade Emery Oak.
We opted for full height, semi-sheer day curtains because it allows natural light to enter, making our place feel more spacious while still providing privacy.
This softens harsh sunlight, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere to our seemingly small space. The uniformed, pleated folds also provide a touch of elegance, which can uplift the overall vibe. 🤍
We initially wanted to go for Nippon Paint's birch patina (light brown) but we’re afraid it'll be too gloomy.. ~
Eventually decided on white paint to provide a clean backdrop, emphasising on simplicity and allowing our furnitures to stand out without overwhelming our space.
After much deliberation, we chose Nippon Paint's snow flakes 1164. :)
Our television is 55", while our TV console is 150cm wide. Fits perfectly against our wall. :)
One of our criteria was also to conceal the cables. No more messy wires, yay!
Our TV console features a rich wood tone with vertical slats along its front, supported by slim black legs. Its warm wood tone complements the neutral theme of our place, balancing functionality and aesthetics. We love it!
We initially wanted to get an L-shaped sofa/ sofa with ottoman. Due to space constraints, we eventually decided on a recliner sofa (1.9m) instead.
We chanced upon this sofa in a random popup (?) store in Jurong and the Mr was sold after trying it out! The salesman also came down to our place with different type of fabric/ colour samples to help us visualise which would suit our theme best!
Even though we know that we can probably get it at a cheaper price (ie JB/ TB), we didn’t have the luxury of time to hunt for it due to our busy schedule.
Our sofa is an easy wash fabric and we can clean small stains effortlessly with a warm cloth. The material is soft, suede fabric which is very comfortable, and does not cause itchiness after sitting hours. We were also able to customise the firmness of the sofa!
Overall, it was a good buy! We love how the colour brings cosiness to our place. One of our favourite spot in the house, no doubt! 👾😊🎮
To match the colour palette of our home, we choose a round, walnut coffee table. It is not only functional, but it blends seamlessly with our neutral interior. It is lightweight and measures 40cm, allowing us to shift it around the living room without compromising on space.
Our original TV purchase included fixed wall mount. After living in our place for 1 month, we decided to change to a swivel mount instead so that we can watch TV while we're at the dining table! This was something we did not think about early on.
Installation was smooth, done by a husband and wife team at Tiger Mount! :D
That's all for our Living Room post, till the next one! 👋🏼
