  • In this post, we'll share about our lighting points and the colour of our lights at some parts of our home! (3K warm white/ 4K natural white/ 6K cool white). Our ID told us to just get 4K for all of our lights, because it strikes a balance between being bright and energizing, while also being comfortable and suitable for various tasks and environments, unlike the harsher blue light of higher color temperatures or the overly warm, potentially dim feel of lower ones! However, the Mrs was worried that 4K may be insufficient (not bright enough) especially when it comes to cleaning/ cooking! This was another tough decision-making process for the Mrs. 😵‍💫 Here in our bedroom, our LED light for the headboard is in 3K!

This is the general overview of our lighting points and the brightness of it! Tri = Tri coloured lightings. You may be wondering, why not get tri coloured lights for all? Well, the Mrs cannot stand the sound of having to keep changing the lights by pressing the buttons continuosly. 😂Smart/ dimmable lights were also out of the question as we wanted to be prudent with our spendings.

There are 2 lighting points in our walk in wardrobe- both of our lights are in 6k! Brighter the better, so its easier for us when we want to get ready. I know some people get dizzy instantly when they see white light. But I guess since our workplace uses white light most of the time, we're already used to it. 😂

This picture was taken by our ID. As you can see, there is a stark difference in the lighting - 3k warm white and 6k! It is definitely not the most aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, especially when it comes to taking photos! But in reality, we don't switch on all the lights at one go. The practical choice of opting for 6K lights was so that we can have access when it comes to finding our clothes, in the wardrobe and as for the 3K LED lightings, we mostly turn it on when we're about to sleep but still using our phones. Note: The 3K light doesnt look thattt orangey IRL, please always see the lighting IRL for a better decision-making process. :)
  • Accent lightings- 4K LED strips in the kitchen. Mrs initially purchased 3K LED strips, but after installation we (the Mrs) realized that it was a tad too yellow so we changed it out to 4K! Hahaha... Another one of our unnecessary expenses..... Oops.... The Mr and ID be like, we told you so right from the start..... 🫢
  • 3K LED lightings at the shelves and acrylic panels! Honestly, it's quite hard to tell from the pictures if it's in 3K or 4K. This is in 3K but yet it isnt too orangey from the pictures. Prior to this, the Mrs was browsing IG and asking people about their home lighting!

Tri-coloured lights in the living room. This can also be dimmed using a remote control but honestly we rarely adjust the lightings at all! We usually use at 4K becuase its bright enough to illuminate the space. However, sometimes the Mrs feel that the 4K light is still a bit yellow to her eyes (in real life) and prefers the 6K! But the Mr likes the 4K brightness more! I guess you need some time to get used to it. 💡 TIP: If you're on the fence about lighting, it's best to visit a showroom/ your friend's house before you make your decision to purchase! (which we/ the Mrs did not because we had no time lol) Seeing it in reality will definitely help with your decision-making process. Till the next post! 👋🏼
