After nearly 3 years in our new home, my daughter's room layout still never quite clicked for me. The layout failed to maximise space, with redundant areas and a notable shortage of storage. All the furnitures (except her wardrobes) were old and not so loved, so they showed. But a week before Christmas, and with her Primary 1 journey soon approaching, I finally felt the spark to revamp!
No built-in furniture made it a breeze to adapt the space as she grows. Firstly, we changed the room layout - the bed’s side is now positioned against the wall, providing generous floor space! The space once occupied by the wooden drawers has now evolved into a study corner, a vital addition as she embarks on a new learning journey!
Before the makeover, the corner by the window in her room was a mix of clutter – luggage, toys, bags, old clothes, you name it. It was my least favourite corner and it took me some time to envision a transformation for that space.
While it might not be a major transformation, adding a new wardrobe cabinet has significantly tidied up the corner, making it neater. It's a practical solution to conceal clutter and we have one less thing to worry about - dust!
Capturing a playdate moment with friends who visited. As you can see in this photo, there's now ample space for play and most importantly, she loves spending more time in her room! 🎉
