During the initial brainstorming phase, we determined that the husband would be in charge of designing the shared bathroom, while the wife would take the lead on designing the master bedroom's bathroom.
Our two bathrooms offer a striking contrast to our otherwise neutral living room. In the common bathroom, the husband has gone with a lively palette featuring shades of orange, green, and light gray. This choice was influenced by the fact that this particular bathroom doesn't receive as much natural light, and we wanted to create a space that felt more open and illuminated.
Both bathrooms are designed for practicality. We've preserved the HDB sink and toilet bowl and built the space around them. Rather than a traditional vanity, we've left the plumbing exposed and used IKEA's LILLTJÄRN / SKATSJÖN to hide them while also serving as storage for cleaning supplies, toothpaste, and shampoo.
The wife chose a colour scheme of orange, blue, and white for the second bathroom to give it a brighter and more lively atmosphere, aiming for a playful and refreshing look.
The distinguishing feature of this bathroom, setting it apart from the other one, is the presence of a shower screen. If you're considering this option, be sure you're willing to put in the effort to keep it clean and well-maintained.
