This is the naked, just moved in, nothing unpacked state of our home (didn’t last very long haha). We thought the pegboard from Ikea would be more versatile than shelves, and we highly recommend it!
Also, very proud of the little DIY hanging light by the pegboard made from a shelf holder, light cord and bulb, all from Ikea, under $20!
Extending the countertop from our kitchen to create continuity and flow in the space has been the best idea.
To create the illusion of a larger space, we did have to break some walls. To our surprise, breaking 4 walls cost us less than 3k!
When thinking through the elements and theme we wanted for our home, we relied on 2 things:
1. Our travels
2. Our love for the outdoors
So we sent these photos we took as part of the brief to our ID. You won’t believe that these were taken in Hong Kong and Vietnam. Guess which is which!
Of course, Pinterest came in handy, and our entire home was based off these cabinets from Nordiska Kök.
Hot tip: If you’re going to multiple IDs, create a quick deck with some inspiration pics, and beyond that, add notes on your lifestyle, hobbies, must haves, good to haves, budget, and floorplan (many will also ask for PDF).
Well the aesthetic plan was to have a coffee corner (we have that) and some photos/ candles/ flowers/ decor. The reality is, there’s that plus our mess- groceries we haven’t keep, deliveries we haven’t open, sometimes even our laptops 😅
@winz planning to post about it.. just need to figure out the right (and aesthetic configuration) first lol! We sometimes post about it on our IG stories..
