Welcome to our entryway, the first thing that you see on the right when you enter the house is our carpentry for shoe cabinet, open shelve, settee, shoe niche, DB box, and storage.
A lot, we know. 😂 Amazing how we managed to incorporate all of it in this segment of the house.
This is the perfect settee for us. We wanted something open initially, but due to space constraints, we settled for this which we love even more.
When not in use, it looks like part of the carpentry. When needed, you can pull it out (there are wheels at the bottom) to take a seat, and wear your shoes before you head out.
At the bottom, we did an open niche for frequently worn shoes & shoes that needed to be aired before being kept back in the cabinet. This way, the entryway will be kept neat and have no shoes lying around.
On top of the mysterious settee, we have our daily essentials like the reusable shopping bag (so that we will remember to bring them out), our socks, and packets of tissues / wet wipes.
Next to it, we purchase a rotating shoe rack from Taobao. It allows shoes to be placed on both sides, maximizing the available space. If you are considering the same concept, remember to let your ID/contractor know in advance so that there will be catered space for it.
At arms level, we have an open niche to display cute items & placed our reed diffuser so that we will be welcomed home with a nice fragrance. This is also the place where we put daily needed items so that we can grab and go.
DB box has always been an eyesore in most households. For us, we relocated ours and placed it inside the cabinet so that it would be hidden but easily reachable in case of a power trip.
The cabinet also has sufficient storage space if you have other items to put in. We kept it empty for now.
And upon opening the main door, this is the view that we are greeted with every day when we come home. Love the fluted panels and the arch entry into the main living area.
We hope you felt the coziness that we wanted to achieve for our home. 😊
