We embarked on a journey to renovate our entrance on a strict budget of under 30k. Opting for a direct contractor, we aimed to maximize our resources and bring our creative vision to life. This post will share the process of transforming our plain entrance into a welcoming space, all while staying within our budget. Our entrance is a simple yet inviting space. A pair of woven rattan chairs flank a small , moroccan table, creating a cozy seating area. A variety of potted plants add a touch of greenery and life, while a rattan shoe rack neatly stores our footwear. The clean lines and neutral colors create a sense of calm and order. We're so excited to finally share our home makeover journey (before/after version)! After waiting for what felt like forever to get our own space, (delayed further due to covid) we were determined to make the most of our budget and time. Our main goal was to get the house ready for our family of four, so we decided to focus on the essentials. One of the biggest challenges we faced was the lack of flooring. The flat came with standard fittings, so we had to allocate a significant portion of our budget to this essential element. We opted for vinyl flooring in Amber Oak for its durability and bohemian aesthetic appeal. To keep costs down, we decided to work with the existing layout of the space. We kept the open-concept design, which creates a sense of spaciousness and allows for easy interaction between different areas. We were so excited to transform our dining room into a space that truly reflected our love for bohemian and Mediterranean aesthetics. We knew we wanted to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, and we decided that a terracotta feature wall would be the perfect way to achieve this. Painting the feature wall terracotta instantly added warmth and depth to the room. We chose a shade that complemented the natural light and created a cozy ambiance. To soften the look, we added a woven rattan pendant light above the dining table, which added a touch of bohemian charm. We decided to play with rattan elements throughout the room. We found some beautiful rattan chairs that perfectly complemented the terracotta wall. We also added a rattan mirror and some woven wall hangings to complete the bohemian look. To add a Mediterranean flair, we incorporated some earthy tones and natural materials into the decor. We used a jute rug to ground the space and added some colorful throw pillows and a table runner to bring in some pattern and texture. We wanted to create a living room that was both inviting and stylish, so we decided to incorporate a terracotta feature wall. We chose to paint the wall in a U-shape, surrounding the seating area. This added a pop of color and warmth to the space without overwhelming the entire room. To complement the terracotta wall, we filled the room with loose furniture and bohemian decor. We opted for a comfortable sofa and a variety of colorful pillows and throws. We also added a few rattan accents, such as a coffee table and a hanging wall basket. We created cozy corners throughout the room by adding floor cushions and a colorful rug. These elements make the space perfect for relaxing and entertaining guests. We maximized the natural light in the room by keeping the window treatments minimal. We chose sheer curtains that allow plenty of light to filter through. We're so happy with the final look of our living room! It's a cozy and inviting space that we can't wait to spend time in. The terracotta wall adds a touch of personality and warmth, while the bohemian decor creates a relaxed and eclectic atmosphere. One of the key elements of our decor is rattan. We love the natural texture and warmth that rattan adds to a space. We've incorporated rattan into various elements throughout our home, including a beautiful rattan mirror, a woven wall hanging, and a stylish rattan lamp. To complement the rattan, we've added some rustic touches, such as dried pampas grass. We love the way the pampas grass adds a touch of boho chic to our space. We've placed it in a beautiful vase and paired it with other natural elements, like dried flowers and shells. We wanted to add a pop of color and personality to our living room, so we decided to create a colorful and creative feature wall. We used a combination of vibrant colors, interesting textures, and personal photos to create a unique and eye-catching display. We chose a bold and bright color palette for our feature wall. The combination of warm & earthy tones to create a cheerful and energetic atmosphere. The colors also complement the existing decor in the room, which is mostly neutral tones. We were thrilled to have a bathroom renovation included in our contractor's budget-friendly package deal. This allowed us to focus on the design and materials without worrying too much about the cost. One of the key decisions we had to make was selecting the right materials for our vanity. We opted for a marble countertop and a wide mirror with a sleek, frameless design. To complement the modern aesthetic, we chose a minimalist sink with clean lines. To elevate the bathroom experience, we installed a luxurious rainshower. The powerful water flow and spa-like ambiance create a truly indulgent shower experience. When we embarked on our home renovation journey, we knew we wanted to focus on the areas that would have the biggest impact. Since our bathroom was in good condition, we decided to keep the original fittings and focus on a few key updates. The centerpiece of our bathroom makeover was the vanity. We spent some time searching for the perfect vanity to complement the existing color scheme. We eventually found a beautiful shade of ashy-brown vanity with oak countertop. The vanity not only added a touch of elegance to the space but also provided ample storage. One of our biggest challenges was maximizing the space in our bedroom. To make the most of the available space, we opted for an L-shaped wardrobe. This design not only provided ample storage but also allowed us to utilize the corner of the room efficiently. We were fortunate to have chosen D&I contractors, who were able to deliver our home within just 7 weeks! Their budget-friendly package included the design and installation of the L-shaped wardrobe, making the entire renovation process hassle-free.
