Welcome to our humble nest! We are a couple living with our cat, Daikon, who's sure to make an appearance in some of our posts. Keep an eye out — you never know when she'll pop up in the background! As we open our home and showcase the little treasures within, we hope you feel the warmth and love that fills our heart. After all, our handle is @hellokokoro, where "kokoro" means heart! *** Our living space is a blend of modern and farmhouse aesthetics. The neutral colour palette, featuring various shades of wood, white, and muted tones, creates a serene and welcoming atmosphere. 
As the sun begins to set, this living space transforms into a cozy and intimate retreat. The warm glow of the pendant lights casts a soft, inviting light in our living and dining area, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The TV and sofa is our go-to spot for move nights and binge-watching our favorite shows together. It's where we unwind and share laughs. 
This is what we see when we step into our home. The curved sofa is the centrepiece of the living room, immediately drawing our eyes with its soft, cream-colored upholstery inviting us to sink in. The natural light streaming through the balcony windows illuminates the warm wood flooring and highlights the inviting ambiance. 
Over here, the same view is bathed in the warm glow. The open-plan layout allows for seamless flow between the living and dining areas, creating a sense of connection and spaciousness. The high ceilings and airy design contribute to the overall sense of spaciousness, making the home feel larger than its actual size. 
Here's another view of our living room! The curved sofa remains the focal point of the living room, providing ample seating for relaxation. A wall mounted TV adds a touch of modern convenience while a built-in console beneath it keeps our space looking clean and organized, giving it a clutter-free appearance. The design not only maximizes space and adds to the room's aesthetic but also makes cleaning effortless, blending style and practicality. A standout feature of this living space is its cat-friendly elements. In one corner, we have a cat tree that offers a cozy hideaway and play area for our furkid. The wall-mounted cat climbers provide extra perching spots, allowing our cat to survey the room from above while seamlessly blending into the decor. Our piano, adorned with a whimsical sunflower throw, sits beside our bookshelf-turned-altar, inviting bursts of musical inspiration whenever the mood strikes. The two doors lead to our bedrooms and feature a built-in cat door, giving Daikon convenient access to other areas of the home while seamlessly blending with the design. 
Now, let's take a closer look at some of the charming elements of our living room! The barn door, a prominent feature of our modern farmhouse home, adds a touch of rustic charm to the space. Its natural wood tones contrast beautifully with the neutral color palette, creating a visually appealing element. The sliding mechanism adds a touch of functionality, allowing easy access to the bomb shelter concealed behind it. 
The wall panels, featuring a vertical slat design, complement the barn door and further enhance the farmhouse aesthetic. The clean lines and white wood design create a sense of order and balance, while the texture adds visual interest. In this picture, you might also notice a cleverly designed niche carved into one of the panel doors — it's a tic-tac door which provides a convenient storage solution for everyday essentials like our tissues and masks. Let's zoom into the glass-fronted TV console which elevates our living room's atmosphere. The brown-tinted glass adds a touch of sophistication while concealing messy wires and knick-knacks without completely blocking access to the TV remote sensor. Behind the glass, we've placed crates that enhanced the farmhouse theme while neatly hiding our belongings, including our internet router. The glass door also uses a tic-tac mechanism, combining practicality with style for a seamless and chic look. A pair of round wooden coffee tables, boasting rich, cinnamon tones, perfectly complements our sofa while offering a practical spot for drinks, snacks, and books. The nesting table design adds a playful touch, allowing us to easily rearrange them to fit our needs. Throughout our modern farmhouse home, you'll find delightful little touches that add personality and playfulness. One such detail is this hedgehog door stopper positioned at the base of the barn door. This accessory not only serves a practical purpose but adds a fun touch to the decor. Here is a closer look at our bookshelf, which serves as our altar. We absolutely adore the design — it combines marble and dark walnut shelves, elegantly supported by sleek gold metal frames. It holds our crucifix, prayer candles, our Bibles, rosaries, and other cherished religious artifacts that hold deep meaning for us. This sacred corner of our living room serves as a constant reminder of our devotion and the role Jesus plays in our everyday lives. This art piece above our piano showcases beautiful Bible verses. It's truly one-of-a-kind, featuring a verse from each book of the Bible, all intricately hand-drawn within a fingerprint. This creative design adds a meaningful and personal touch to our space, and we're excited to curate more art pieces like this to further enrich our home. That's a wrap for today's post.
