Welcome to my kitchen (again)! If you’ve seen my space before, you might already know how much thought went into the design. But this time, I’m zooming in on something just as important, organisation. I’ve always believed that an organised kitchen makes everyday routines smoother, from grabbing a quick Milo sachet in the morning to prepping dinner with everything right where it should be. And let’s be real, it’s so satisfying to open a drawer or cabinet and see everything in its place. Clean lines, clear surfaces, and systems that just make sense? Yes please. I focused on making the most of our storage while keeping things functional and aesthetically pleasing. Think of it as a little behind-the-scenes tour, with practical tips you can try in your own kitchen too. Let’s dive in!

One of the things I prioritised was easy access to guest essentials and that starts with glassware. All the glasses stored in this cabinet are meant exclusively for guests. I wanted them to be reachable in just one step, so I used vertical drying racks to keep them neat, dust-free, and ready to serve. There’s a rack for regular glasses and another for more delicate pieces like stemmed or vintage glasses. Everything has its place, and it feels so good to know that when guests drop by, we’re ready! No rummaging through random shelves or boxes.

If there’s one thing I always wonder during festivities or when hosting a big group, it’s “Where do I put all the food?!” With limited countertop space, serving up a spread can quickly become a game of Tetris. That’s when I discovered this amazing black stove cover. I’d imagined something like this in my head for so long, and I’m honestly so glad it actually exists. It fits perfectly over the stove and instantly gives me a wide, flat surface that’s both sleek and sturdy. When I’m not cooking, I can now use that entire section to place serving trays, drink dispensers, or snack platters. It’s especially useful when guests are over or during festive seasons when every bit of space counts.

One thing I’ve always wanted in my kitchen? A dedicated drawer just for beverages! And not just a random stash, but a neat, organised one where everything is visible and easy to grab. So yes, this drawer brings me a lot of joy! From teh tarik to Milo, coffee sachets to chocolate treats, everything has its own little section. I used clear acrylic organisers to separate each type, making it so easy to see what we have (and when we need a top-up). It’s honestly one of my favourite drawers to open every day.

Inside the beverage drawer, there’s a second, hidden drawer that slides out! That’s where all my cutlery lives. I used a retractable wooden divider from Taobao, and it’s been great for adjusting the sections to fit everything from soup spoons to baby utensils. On the far right, I carved out a space for miscellaneous items. You know, those small things like scissors, tape measure, door stoppers, the random bits that need a home too. Keeping them together but out of sight helps the main drawer stay neat and purposeful.

What makes this setup even better is how close these drawers are to the dining area. When guests come over, we can easily grab drinks, cutlery, or serve snacks without running across the kitchen. Everything is right there, convenient, accessible, and clutter-free. Organising a kitchen isn’t about making it look Pinterest-perfect (though that’s a bonus!). It’s about creating a space that works for you. Whether it’s carving out a beverage drawer you’ve always dreamed of, making room for guests with a clever stove cover, or simply knowing exactly where your cutlery is. These little systems go a long way in making daily life smoother. I hope this peek into my kitchen gave you some inspiration, whether you’re setting up your space from scratch or just looking to make it a little more functional. At the end of the day, the best kind of kitchen is one that feels easy to use and truly yours.
