Hey guys! We're back from S6 to S7 and super excited to be part of the Hipvan journey again. For this new season, we’re showing "Before & After" for each part of our home, so stay tuned for updates on our space! Here's a little GIF we took of our kitchen. Our house theme is contemporary/monochrome—something not so common among most homeowners. But we believe the dark theme really brings out a classy, timeless vibe. So yes, we’re definitely feeling IT!
[BEFORE] Here's a couple of photos from the HDB virtual house tour, which were really helpful when discussing with our interior designer. You can view colors of the kitchen and wall tiles provided by HDB, which helps a lot with planning and design.
[BEFORE] Here's a closer look at our open kitchen concept, including the service yard. The kitchen floor tiles are grey with a great texture that perfectly complements our theme.
[AFTER] Our ID suggested we go with a cement screed for the wall and paint it, and we have no regrets! Though it’s a bit harder to clean than wall tiles, we really appreciate the clean, uncluttered look. We chose not to fill the upper space with too many cabinets, which does reduce storage, but since we’re a couple that only does light cooking, it’s not really a big issue for us.
The wall lights we bought from Shopee have an elegant lattice design that creates a beautiful, intricate pattern when lit. The light softly filters through the cut-out details, casting delicate shadows on the walls, adding depth and texture to the room. They perfectly complement our dark-themed aesthetic, bringing both warmth and a stylish, modern vibe to the space. The geometric design really stands out, making the lights not just functional but a statement piece in the room.
