When having to work remotely for two or more days, having a dedicated office space at home becomes crucial. Whether you've got a whole room, a little nook, or just a nice desk, having a spot dedicated to work, at least for me, is important for establishing a focused mindset and ensuring that other living spaces in the home don't become less enjoyable.
In my WFH setup, I've prioritized comfort during extended work hours by incorporating a standing desk with a supportive footrest and carefully selecting a leather chair for proper back support.
To further enhance productivity, my desk features only the essentials: a laptop, a monitor, a speaker, and a small lamp. Occasionally, I bring in my iPad and keyboard as needed. I repurposed a shelf insert, commonly used for organizing dishes and cups, to elevate my monitor.
Noticing the room's dullness, I added a personal touch by hanging wall art above my workspace.
To keep things organized, loose documents and books find a home in drawers, with less frequently used, heavier items at the bottom and important documents on top. I also hang my frequently rotated work bags in this room for easy access.
In the evening, the soft glow of the lamp creates a comfortable ambiance, allowing me to work with utmost ease.
Being a new homeowner, I've discovered that having my own dedicated workspace is instrumental in enabling me to concentrate better and compartmentalize work, keeping it confined to a specific area rather than scattered throughout different parts of the home. This approach significantly aids my focus and work-life balance.
