Today's post is about creating a dedicated photoshoot space in your room for some OOTDs and content! I decorated this space with the intention for photoshoots in mind too.
Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Choose a corner of your room with ideal factors
Here's some factors to consider when choosing a spot:
- Natural Lighting: Choose a space near a large window for soft, natural light
- Background: Look for a wall with some art for visual aesthetics.
Space: Choose a area that satisfy your shots needs. If you are shooting OOTDs, ensure you have space enough to walk! If you are looking to shoot flatlays, add in a carpet or rug so you have a backdrop to shoot against.
Step 2: Set up a distinctive backdrop
You do not necessarily have to make it not look like a bedroom. Instead, embrace it! This brings out your personality and creativity. Use wallpapers, wall art, or even your personal favourites - here I have a cap in red for some pop of colour.
When it comes to wall art, most of my art comes from souvenirs collected from my travels. I used a magnetic wooden frame to hang it up here.
Step 3: Adding props and decor
Props add context and creativity to your shoots. I tend to add in props found in my room, such as plants, books, rugs, and mirrors.
You can also rotate props to match holidays, seasons, or specific projects.
Lastly, embrace your own personality and versatility! Experiment with different styles or props to create your own unique space.
I sometimes do my flatlays on my bed too! It gives off a soft and cosy effect.
