When we first purchased our house, we concurred that the living room should serve as the focal point of our humble abode. In the initial phase, we spent hours envisioning the ideal space. Our vision was to create a welcoming, open area where both family and friends could gather to spend quality time together.
Here are some key pointers that we did our best to adhere to:
- Infuse the space with natural light to create a bright and airy ambiance.
- Opt for a low-profile sofa to create the illusion of a larger space
- Select a small coffee table that complements the space without overshadowing it.
- Prioritise sleek, uncluttered design, keeping wires and lines to a minimum
When it comes to styling our shelves and adding decorative touches, we were careful to choose items that harmonised with the overall theme of the area.
Initially, it was slightly challenging because some items might have been beautiful individually but didn't quite fit the theme. It took some trial and error, along with rearranging things multiple times, to achieve the desired look!
I can't emphasise enough how significant scent is. It is remarkable how such a small, often overlooked element can have such a profound impact. Just picture returning home to a delightful fragrance, It is incredibly soothing!
At the moment, my favourite brand is glasshouse because of the incredible scents that they offer. Please feel free to drop me a dm if you have better brands to recommend :)
