What’s up guys, and welcome to the heart of our home: the kitchen. This space is more than just where we cook—it's where we find inspiration and unwind, even if our culinary skills are a work in progress.
Embracing a retro vibe, we went for tiled floors and added a handy peninsula atop our cabinets for extra prep space.
Now, why did we opt for an open-closed setup? Simple: we wanted to keep those cooking smells contained. Picture this: a wall with glass blocks, seamlessly melding with the living room. And to top it off, a nifty glass door and window combo lets us switch between cosy and airy in a heartbeat. Perfect for post-cooking cleanup!
During the renovation, the kitchen was the main focus. We focused on tidying up those unsightly pipes and ensuring we had ample storage for all our kitchen gear.
Now, let's talk about an interesting feature: the foldable kitchen sink. With a tap that folds away, we can instantly transform our countertop from chaos to calm. It's become a nightly ritual; once we have done the dishes and folded the tap away, signalling the end of the day and a cue to unwind.
Of course, we couldn't resist adding our personal touch—mini-toys and posters scattered about, giving the space a playful, foodie vibe that's uniquely us.
In essence, our open-closed kitchen strikes the perfect balance between practicality and style, offering a space to get creative while seamlessly blending with the rest of our home.
