After visiting Japan, we both fell in love with Japanese interior design that is minimalist and gives off zen vibes. So we decided to create this in our home.
The color palette we chose for our home consists of grey, oak wood and beige.
From tiles to walls, even the home décor items at home we will always try and choose grey or beige to match.
To bring out the full Japandi theme - in addition to the interior, we also took effort to choose loose furniture and styling pieces which also have the same Japandi vibe. We chose low height furnitures for our bed and sofa.
We searched high and low and view many different furniture shops for a low sofa, some were really too low which felt quite comfortable after sitting for too long.
In the end we choose Castlery, a sofa called Mori - low and comfy.
We also added on a side table which helps to remove the clutter of having a coffee table in the middle of our living room and it has the Japandi feel.
We love the beauty of imperfection.
To create a meaningful memory, we decided to challenge ourselves to personalize our first home by DIYing our own limewashed walls.
The raw finish and textures helps us to appreciate the imperfection side of things.
Look forward to our next sharing about the different spaces in our home.
Merry Christmas!
