Keeping our bathrooms all in neutral palettes of beige, sand and off-white. We are here to share how to design your bathroom neutral palette and make it work for you.
1. Play with Textures to Add Depth and Interest
When designing a bathroom in neutral tones like beige, sand, and off-white, adding a variety of textures is key to keeping the space from feeling flat. Think about mixing smooth, glossy surfaces with rough, matte finishes to create balance.
In our instance, our backsplash is actually a mix of matte and glossy tiles. We intentionally opt for this tile design as we also love how the tiles are coloured imperfectly, giving it more texture.
2. Embrace Subtle Contrast: Colour Pairings
Don’t stress about having every shade match perfectly. In fact, embracing slight contrasts can make your bathroom feel more dynamic and lived-in. For instance, a warm beige could be paired with a cooler off-white, or a soft sand tone with a slightly darker cream. The slight variation in hues adds personality without overwhelming the space.
I was obsessed about finding the perfect sink that suits the space but I realised having it in a darker sand tone creates more visual interest! What do you think?
3. Layer in Natural Materials for Warmth
While neutral tones are calming, incorporating natural materials like concrete or stone will bring in warmth and texture that’s essential for creating a welcoming bathroom.
In our master bathroom, a concrete stone soap bottle can add a layer of earthiness. Even though it's in a totally different colour of grey, but somehow it keeps in line with the overall neutral palette without overwhelming the space.
And there you have it!
Designing a neutral bathroom doesn’t mean boring beige walls and a snooze-worthy space. With the right textures, a bit of contrast, and a moodboard to keep you on track, your bathroom will go from plain to perfectly polished.
So go ahead, embrace the neutrals and turn your bathroom into a serene yet stylish retreat!
