When it comes to outfitting our home, it’s all about blending aesthetics with functionality. As much as we love a good design, what really gets us excited is investing in pieces that not only look good but also serve a real purpose in our daily life. From the functional to the fancy, these are the investments that make our modern organic space feel like home, and they’ve really upped our lifestyle game. In this week’s post, we’ll be sharing our favourite home investments — the ones that have truly made a difference and are worth every penny! Let’s begin with three things we said we’d 𝙉𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍 get, yet now can’t imagine living without—proof that sometimes, the right investment changes everything! 😅 And then, we’ll move on to other items we’ve carefully chosen for the home that not only fit our modern organic aesthetic but have also made daily life so much easier. Let’s dive in! 𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘅 𝗧𝗠𝟲 One of the best investments we’ve made in the kitchen has got to be the Thermomix TM6! At first, we were 𝘴𝘰 not into the idea of a Thermomix. We’re the kind of people who love the sounds of a simmering pot and the rhythmic cling-clang of a ladle against the sides of the pot. We were even convinced the Thermomix wasn’t for us, thinking we were too set in our ways for such a high-tech gadget! We swore we’d 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 cave and get one. But then, after hearing a friend’s countless stories about how the Thermomix completely transforms cooking and saves so much time, we’ll admit…we splurged. 🤭 So, from a skeptic to a total convert, we’re now fully on the TM6 train! Honestly, if you’re thinking about getting a kitchen gadget, the TM6 is a no-brainer. It does EVERYTHING! We’re talking chopping, steaming, stirring, kneading—it’s pretty much your personal chef in one device. You just throw in your ingredients, hit a button, and walk away. It even stirs for you, so no more standing by the stove making sure nothing burns. We love that it saves us SO MUCH TIME. While it cooks, we can do other things, and when it’s done preparing our dish, cleaning up is a breeze with less mess! You’re not juggling a million different appliances to clean. Trust us, if you want to save time, reduce mess, and actually enjoy cooking, the TM6 is totally worth it! 𝟮. 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗤𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 Okay, so in our previous 3RM flat, we used a cordless stick vacuum, and it worked fine. So when we moved, we figured we’d just stick to the same. Turns out, it quickly became a chore—lugging it around, emptying the dustbin constantly, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 still having to mop after. That’s when we decided it was time to 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 get a robot vacuum. We used to think a robot vacuum was just a nice-to-have, but after switching to the Roborock, we’re never going back! First off, the fact that it vacuums 𝘢𝘯𝘥 mops on its own is already a win. No more dragging a vacuum around or spending time going over the same spots! We just press start (or schedule it), and it does the job while we do literally 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦. Alright, let us tell you about the Roborock QRevo Master. We’ve got different floor textures around the house - vinyl flooring, tiles in the kitchen, and then rugs in the living and entryway - so it’s a mix that definitely needs something with some serious cleaning power. So, we didn’t just grab any vacuum—we did 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 of research. We watched reviews, compared all the QRevo models, and finally we decided on the QRevo Master for a number of reasons. Firstly, the flexi-arm design with the extendable side brush and mop is a huge plus. It truly gets into all those tricky corners and hard-to-reach spots! We also appreciate the DuoRoller brush that prevents hair tangling. And because it runs daily, the house stays consistently clean instead of us waiting until we have time (or energy) to vacuum. So, yes! We ditched our cordless vacuum, and honestly? Zero regrets! 𝟯. 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘁/𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗢 (𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝘀𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀) 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝟭𝟲 We didn’t think we needed a hot/cold water dispenser because, like most people, we grew up in households where cold water came straight from the fridge. So we thought, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘹 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘯? Which is why we didn’t even factor in a tankless water dispenser during our renovation. Then reality hit—my dad (who is now staying with us) is the ultimate water guzzler, making endless trips to the fridge for refills. And since constantly opening the fridge isn’t exactly great for its efficiency, we finally caved and got one. Since we hadn’t planned for a built-in option, we went with a portable one instead. The good thing about the novita W16 Dispenser is that it’s not bulky at all! It’s actually sleek enough to fit into a small countertop space in our kitchen, and its aesthetics blend in seamlessly. It’s been such a great addition to our home that we get the hype now—but we’re still not going tankless! We’re perfectly happy with this setup, and honestly? No regrets here as well! Funny how we once swore we’d never get a Thermomix, a robot vacuum, or a water dispenser, huh? Yet here we are, happily swallowing our own words (and enjoying the perks)! Turns out, some things really 𝙖𝙧𝙚 worth the hype! Okay, so now let’s move on to other investments we’ve made around the home that make daily life easier, more efficient, and just a little more enjoyable! 𝟰. 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗵 
One of our unexpected but highly valuable investments was the magnetic mesh we added on top of our indoor rubbish chute. Since our resale home has a chute inside the house, it was crucial to find a solution to keep it clean and free from unwanted pests. This simple yet brilliant addition does exactly that—it creates a barrier that prevents any unwanted guests from sneaking in, while still allowing us to easily access and use the chute. It's one of those little details that, while often overlooked, makes a world of difference in maintaining cleanliness and peace of mind! 𝟱. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝘅 The Baymax, our automatic cat litter box from CatLink, has been such a worthy investment. We no longer have to manually scoop Bucky’s litter every night, which has saved us time and hassle. It’s also been fantastic at keeping odours away, so our home stays smelling fresh. Bucky definitely approves of the Baymax—he enjoys having a clean litter box whenever he needs it! 𝟲. 𝗫𝗶𝗮𝗼𝗺𝗶 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 When it came to air purifiers, we were left disappointed with our previous experience with a different brand. Let’s just say it was a total bust, and we didn’t see any improvement in air quality or pet dander situation. So, we decided to do our homework and dive into research, watching YouTube reviews and comparing models to find something that would actually live up to the hype. Enter the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier Elite! It’s been such a solid investment. Not only has it made a noticeable difference in the air quality (we’ve even noticed less of Bucky’s fur floating around), but it’s also aesthetically perfect for our space. The design is sleek and modern, and it fits seamlessly into our living room, standing tall and commanding attention without being bulky. Plus, since we already use Xiaomi cameras in the house, the fact that we can control the purifier all from one app was a huge win. It’s the kind of piece that not only improves our air but complements the overall vibe of our home. And so far? It’s been totally worth it! 𝟳. 𝗟𝗚 𝟭𝟰/𝟭𝟬𝗸𝗴 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿™ The LG Wash Tower™ is honestly like the crown jewel of our laundry space. A washer and dryer in one glorious tower? Fancy, right? But it’s not just about looks; this piece is all about functionality too. The nature green and cream colour scheme is so on point with our home’s aesthetic, blending effortlessly with the rest of our space. The sleek touch screen control panel is so intuitive, the pre-heat dryer function is a total win, and the steam technology to reduce wrinkles is an excellent plus! What really sold us, though, is the super quiet operation with less vibration — no more annoying rumbles while we’re trying to relax. And the best part? We no longer have to deal with emptying the dryer water reservoir anymore (goodbye to that task we 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 didn’t miss from our previous dryer). Everything’s integrated and streamlined, so laundry time is now easier and more efficient. It’s the perfect mix of form and function, and we’re loving it! 𝟴. 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 When it came to finding the perfect dining table for our home, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly an easy feat. We went on an arduous search to find something that fit the vibe of our modern organic space, but nothing really made our hearts sing. After a lot of searching and debating, we decided it was time to drop some serious moolah and splurge on a customised table that would truly fit the vision. We worked with KayuSg to design the legs to be arched, complementing the overall aesthetic of the home. The base and sintered stone top were provided by our ID, and we matched the top with the kitchen countertop since the dining area is an extension of the kitchen. It just made sense to keep things cohesive. Sometimes, when you can’t find something that really speaks to you, the smart move is to customise. We didn’t want to settle for a design that didn’t fully align with the space we had in mind. We also opted against a curved or oval table top to maximise seating space—because we wanted to make sure we could comfortably seat 8 people. The result? A stunning, functional piece that completes the space and feels 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 right! 𝟵. 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 Finding the perfect office chair to complement our curved office table in the master bedroom was no easy task. Since the Mrs is the one who works on the computer more, we knew we needed a chair that would allow her to sit cross-legged comfortably while also promoting good posture. We went on an endless hunt, but after trying a few options that just didn’t feel quite right, we stumbled upon the Soul Seat — and it was a total win! This chair was definitely a worthy investment for both its functionality and the way it elevates the look of the room. Now, we know some people might question the lack of a traditional backrest or back support. But here’s the thing: not having back support actually encourages mindfulness about posture. It keeps us more aware of sitting up straight and prevents us from unintentionally slouching. We did have some concerns about sitting cross-legged for extended periods, but after watching countless videos from physiotherapists and chiropractors, we learned that sitting in any position for long periods of time isn't ideal — sitting itself is often referred to as “the new smoking.” The key is to get up, stretch, and move around regularly. So sitting cross-legged isn’t actually any worse than sitting in any other position for long stretches. Plus, for the Mrs, sitting cross-legged encourages better posture and keeps her more mindful throughout the day. The Soul Seat supports all of this by providing a design that encourages active sitting and promotes better posture naturally. It's a minimalist, functional choice that's perfect for our home office space and our work habits. Ergonomics aside, the aesthetics of the Soul Seat are a huge win. The wood base perfectly complements the wood elements in our room, tying the space together beautifully. The cream colour we chose for the seat blends effortlessly with the rest of the room's neutral tones, creating a calm and cohesive look. It’s not just a functional piece; it’s an elegant addition to the office that enhances the overall design of our space! It’s still on its way because we ordered it from the US, but we’ll be sure to post an update once it arrives! Can’t wait to see it in person and finally add that finishing touch to the room. 𝟭𝟬. 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 ‘𝗺𝗲𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗯’ 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 
Having a dedicated prayer space (𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘩) in our home was incredibly important to us, both for our family and for any guests who visit. It’s a space that promotes serenity, mindfulness, and a deeper connection to our faith. And, of course, it wouldn’t feel complete without a 𝘮𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘢𝘣 — the architectural feature that marks the direction of prayer. The 𝘮𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘢𝘣 in a 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘩 serves not only as a functional element, guiding worshippers towards the qibla, but it also adds a sense of grandeur and sacredness to the space. We had a clear vision of how we wanted the 𝘮𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘢𝘣 to look, but when we couldn’t find any local companies capable of bringing our design to life, we expanded our search and found a company in Malaysia that could execute it perfectly. The investment, including the shipping process from Kuala Lumpur, was absolutely worth it. The 𝘮𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘢𝘣 has added such a unique and elevating touch to our 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘩 - it’s not just a functional piece; it enhances the atmosphere of the entire room, turning it into a truly special place for prayer and reflection. ❤️ 𝟭𝟭. 𝗖𝗡𝗖 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 
The CNC laser cut engraving of our home logo that we requested on our cooker hood cover was one of those details that made our kitchen feel uniquely ours. After designing the logo ourselves, we worked closely with our interior designer to make sure the engraving on the cooker hood was exactly how we envisioned it, and the result is a stunning and intricate engraving that perfectly complements the sleek look of our kitchen! While it was a bit of a splurge, it was totally worth it! Adding this personalised touch has not only made our kitchen feel more intimate and reflective of our style, but it's also become a great conversation starter with guests. Whenever we have people over, they always comment on it and ask about the meaning behind the logo, which leads to some interesting and fun conversations. It's a small but meaningful detail that makes a big impact, and it was definitely a good move to invest in something that adds character and a personal touch to our home. 
At the end of the day, our approach to home investments isn’t about following trends or splurging on things we don’t truly need. For us, it’s all about investing in pieces that enhance both our everyday comfort and our sense of happiness. Whether it’s the ergonomic chair that makes long hours feel effortless, the time saved by our robot vacuum, or the convenience of a multi-functional kitchen gadget, these choices have transformed the way we live, work, and enjoy our space. Each decision, from custom furniture pieces to bespoke designs, has been a step toward creating a home that truly reflects who we are. Whether it’s the personalized dining table or the ‘mehrab’ in our musollah, these thoughtful touches bring warmth and character to our home—details that wouldn’t feel as meaningful with off-the-shelf solutions.
