Starting with the master bedroom! Similar to the rest of the house, we not given the option to opt of the flooring, doors and basic fittings. This was what we got – “dark wood” vinyl flooring, doors and skirtings.
For our reno, we stripped the vinyl flooring and skirtings, and opted for 900x900 glazed porcelain tiles.
We also got floor-to-ceiling carpentry, and as well as a vanity area.
We got a false ceiling too, and we love the cosy ambience created by the cove lights.
On the right, we also built a small feature wall for our TV.
Instead of curtains (which would look more aesthetic), we opted for blinds as it is a lot more practical and easy to clean.
We hacked all the BTO wall and floor tiles, as well as fittings.
To recreate a luxe hotel-like experience, we chose these large format (1200 x 600mm) marble-like wall tiles and gold tapware.
We also built in a mirror cabinet and bottom cabinet, for more storage space.
For the shower area, we built a partition to prevent the other areas of the bathroom from being wet.
We opted for a half-wall, half-glass partition, which strikes a balance between hiding our soap bottles, while still making the area look wide.
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more before & after posts for the other areas of our home!
