At Hafary, we fell in love with the Marazzi range of Zellige tiles, an artisanal, enamel-coated tile crafted in Morocco. Their unique combination of shapes, dimensions, and colour variations lends an iridescent effect, reminiscent of the gleaming sea.
So we decided to make these the star feature of this guest bathroom.
These Zell Salvia LX tiles line two walls of the common bathroom, with the variations of green set against the light grey floor tiles.
We then added a pink terrazzo basin from Modeste for colour and texture, but kept the mirror design simple.
Showering in this bathroom, with its gleaming sea-foam green tiles makes us feel like we're underwater!
We originally wanted gold fittings, but felt they would be a hassle to up-keep. Hence we decided on chrome fittings instead.
We would have preferred to box up the open pipes, but felt that doing so would make the space more claustrophobic. So we left them as-is and saved some money.
Moving on to the master bedroom bathroom!
For this bathroom, we wanted the colours to match our oak and sand bedroom. Again, we started from the tile selection.
We wanted kitkat tiles originally for the backsplash, but felt that they were trendy not timeless. In the end, practicality won, and we went for the natural stone mosaic instead.
So this bathroom features stone mosaic and sandy hues.
With such a wide countertop, we filled up the empty spaces with a faux plant from HOOGA. This gives us something to look at when we're washing our hands!
This squarish shower area is now super spacious! We also created a niche for our toiletries so everything is kept streamlined.
You can't see it from the photos, but the grains on the wall tiles are gorgeous! Click the tag to view it up close.
We have one major renovation regret with this bathroom - we should have gone for darker floor tiles! The current ones are too light, and every dirty footprint is seen easily. : (
They're stunning when viewed singularly at Hafary, but just doesn't work well as floor tiles!!!
With the enlarged space, we could even fit in a three-tier laundry basket from Style Degree!
Meanwhile, the Muji bath stool helps our toddlers access the washbasin easily, and yet does not destroy the overall white/sand aesthetic of the space.
