    Let’s begins with a snapshot of the space in its original 1994 condition. The bathroom was dated, with those exposed pipes that were a real eyesore and generally looked rough with no vibes.

    We chose to conceal the pipes in the bathroom, fully aware of the potential risks. But I must say that it was a decision worth taking! The exposed pipes were unsightly and by hiding them, the space now feels much sleeker and more polished. It also serves as a handy tabletop! PS: just a quick tip, we saved some extra tiles in case we ever need to dismantle the false wall and can’t find replacements (fingers crossed we won’t!)

    To keep the rest of the bathroom dry after showers, we added a simple shower glass screen. It’s a practical solution that works well with the layout and keeps things feeling open and functional. Notice that there is no washbasin in our bathroom?

    Here’s a peek at the washbasin, now positioned just outside the bathroom as part of our vanity area. We decided to move the washbasin outside the bathroom to make more space. This is crucial for two reasons: 1) to accommodate the shower glass screen, and 2) with a 192cm-tall husband, every extra space counts!
