Welcome to our unconventional layout home! Here’s one of our favourite place we love to hang out. Watching shows on our projector and also play with our cats!
One of the main reasons we got this place is because of the large living and dining area! Sometimes we reconfigure our living room to have more space for our cats to roam freely!
One of our favourite doors in the house. We specially design the doors to open up to the living room so we can have even more space. Another perk would be to be able to watch shows from the bedroom itself because the door is facing the projector wall.
The kitchen was overhaul entirely because we wanted a cleaner look without top hung cabinets as well as levelling the floor tiles. The concrete cement look is actually quartz from Caesarstone! Amazing what technology can do these days.
Finally to the dining room of ours! We have this wall system to display our artworks, collectibles and my framed photo collections. We choose to have it in dark walnut so that it would complete the mid century modern look. Have a wall system also means that we can shift things around when we feel like it!
POV from the living room towards the entryway and dining room! We designed this arch made of laminated plywood as there was already a structural beam originally there, nothing we can do about it except to make it more fancy and old school! It would also act as a segregation between the two zones.
Finally to the dining room where we have an extendable vintage table from Noden where we can host larger groups of people when needed. We love how it looks and also how it adds meaning to our mid century modern theme! Pendant lamps are also sourced secondhand from Etsy. Be it in the needs, procurement or style, we try to stay closer to what we like with functional items!
