Meet the green squad of my home! 🌿 From the low-maintenance faux plants to the purple orchid (Phalaenopsis), each of these leafy friends brings a touch of nature indoors. 🌱 They're more than just decor—they're little mood-boosters and air purifiers too! 😊
In this area, it is the suggested study in the floorplan, but we have plans to make this into a cosy coffee/matcha corner.
For now we purchased this faux tree from The Nursery Singapore. :)
Look at how the sunlight hits the leaves... What a morning to wake up to everyday!
Shoutout of The Nursery Singapore (not sponsored btw), they have a huge selection of house plants (both live and faux). We picked this tree when we visited the shop physically, along with other plants that we will be introducing shortly in this post.
We styled this area with an oak wood side table.
On the table we have,
- a lamp from Sonogo (do support this young and inspiring lad that 3D prints lamp!)
- Reed diffuser and candle
- My purple orchid that was gifted to me
- Some perfumes that we got as a gift as well
- Preserved flower dome that we handcrafted when we attended a floral arrangement workshop back during the good ol' covid days with the skillsfuture credits!
However, our orchid has since dropped all its flowers ):
We googled and got a variety of response, such as:
1. Natural Flowering Cycle
2. Temperature Fluctuations
3. Overwatering or Underwatering
etc etc...
Any advice from anyone out there who also cultivates this? Otherwise, this might be the first plant that failed in our hands ):
Here are more plants that we bought from The Nursery Singapore.
1. "Fa Cai" plant, also known as the Money Tree or Pachira aquatica, is a popular indoor tree known for its braided trunk and large, glossy green leaves, believed to bring good luck and prosperity.
2. Everfresh! (Pithecellobium Confertum) - Must have for all japandi themed home.
Lastly, plants that require a lot of sunlight are typically placed in our service yard. We find that sunlight tends to be the strongest in this area of the house, so for young seedlings or plants that we are trying to propagate, we will usually place them here.
Over here we have:
1. Jacaranda mimosifolia (behind the laundry sign) - Gift from our ID who designed the entire house.
2. Australian mint plant (on the window ledge) - This is great for beverages. Currently we are trying to propagate it and have it grow out its roots before transferring it to a planter with soil.
3. Money plant! (On top of our washing machine) - Our Fengshui master told us to put it in the 'wealth corner' but... it's still so small so we will let it thrive here first until it is ready for the 'wealth corner'.
Pretty short post but thank you all for spending time in this jungle. Glad you guys made it out! :D
