We will be sharing some kitchen storage and organisational ideas!
Most of our items are kept in the drawers and cabinets out of sight, as we keep the countertop space free for kitchen equipments like the rice cooker, air fryer, electric kettle and water dispenser.
To organise our kitchen cooking condiments, we specially designed a double layer condiment rack near the cooking area to keep everyday sauces, spices and seasonings within convenient reach! We had requested our carpenter to customise this double layer condiment rack (which is a cheaper alternative to using the Blum Space Twin spice organiser tray).
We have a total of 10 drawers in our kitchen! Having drawers help to make retrieval of items easier! To organise our plates and bowls efficiently, we used these organisers to store them neatly!
In our other drawer, we keep dry items like flour and baking ingredients as well as opened pasta packs. It is a good idea to use transparent air tight storage boxes to store these items so that you can see at one glance what they are storing! We also used sticker labels to label the items and their expiry dates.
We placed our rice bucket dispenser in the lower shelves! Two different rice buckets for different kind of rice grains! Tip: Place some garlic in the rice buckets to get rid of rice weevils!
We have many pans and pots for different cooking purposes. We store our pots and pans using these storage racks, so that we can stack more in one area! If you are wondering why there is a scissors in this area, it is because we have different scissors for cooked and raw food. As the raw food scissors is not frequently used, we placed them below the kitchen sink area to easily distinguish them apart.
We have top and bottom cabinet in our kitchen. Our countertop height is 90cm, our backsplash height is 70cm and we have hidden switches (~10cm more). Thus, our upper cabinets only start at a height of ~170cm! This height is taller than Mrs, hence we needed to place a mini step stool in the kitchen in order for Mrs to reach the upper cabinets! We got this white and blue step stool to match the Santorini theme of our kitchen!
