Our living space is a semi open concept, with the kitchen and study being visible, making the space seem more open. We also leaned a tiny bit quirky with our decor choices. The burger ottoman and soft toys add small touches of colour and enliven the space, turning the house into a home. 
Since we don’t have any built-ins, we have to get creative with our storage. This coffee table has a bit of storage space which we use to hold our party games in easy reach. Essentials like our remotes and other bits and bobs also live here. We are a cat home, so we incorporate a lot of subtle cat themed decor, alongside the actual cat related items like scratchers and beds. Another way we worked around the space was to have a free standing TV instead of a TV console. We “concealed” the cables and our wifi router within a basket behind the TV and additionally made use of a faux plant to further block the view of any trailing cables. A little side table in this space pulls double duty as an air cleaner! We also love decorating with dried flowers as they are low maintenance. The tray also serves as a “station” for our gaming controllers which keeps the space looking neat.
