Welcome to Cafe in Wonderland! Our entryway is where we usually hang out in the mornings with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings. You can spot our customised cafe signboard right on top of the bar. One of our favourite features of the flat is our wood ceiling in the entryway which sets the woody ambience for the rest of the 93sqm. Come on in and have a cup of cuppa on us!
As you walk in, the full height built-in cabinets wraps around the entire length of the entryway to the living room. One key highlight is the 4-tier open shelves with a slight curve edge. This serves as an art gallery where we display items that embodies our personalities and the vibes that we want to have for our home cafe. On the top shelf, we have a bookshelf speaker on a smart plug that connects to our Google Home ecosystem. On most days, music plays whenever we are at home because we believe lighting, music and scents adds to a cosy space!
As you walk in through the entryway, you can have a sneak peep into our living room. Here, we spend many weekends lazing on our recliner sofas or our massage chair. On days where we have guests, we will push the recliners and massage chair towards the windows and roll out a foldable dining table that sits up to 8 pax. We try to incorporate light wood tones whenever we can, including our ceiling fan. Take a seat, have a break!
As we enter the living room, you can see that the built-in cabinets continues. This is one of the decisions we made to incorporate storage solutions that blends seamlessly with the design. On the bottom cabinets, we place a hidden end-to-end socket for all our devices. The cabling of the devices are seamlessly hidden behind carpentry. We love our Samsung Frame TV with the Teak Bezel that blends seamlessly with our laminates from Lamitak. We think the customisable art of the TV on standby mode looks great hanging off the carpentry too. What do you think? :)
Another feature of our living room is the customised Wallhub wallpaper which goes with our home cafe theme. Fun fact, the signboard on the wallpaper says “Cafe in Wonderland” and we chose the colour codes of the wallpaper off nippon paint catalogue. We also added the rainbow cake because who doesn’t like rainbow cake? ;)
Here’s a view looking into the entryway and dining area/coffee bar, from the living room. We place our Google Nest Hub on our coffee bar, this is the control centre of our apartment and we shoutout to Google on a daily basis. Whether it is to play our favourite playlist or to turn on the ceiling fan without lifting our bums off the sofa recliners, our smart home gives us convenience wherever we are.
Coffee by day, wine by the evenings and tea in between, this is where it brews! Our open pantry is where we create our concoctions. It’s where we house our Nespresso and Dolce Gusto coffee machines, Bruno water dispenser and sandwich maker, SMEG kettle appliances.
Welcome to the heart of the flat-the kitchen. If food is your love language, this one is for you. When we were selecting our flat, having an open concept kitchen was a requirement of the both of us. We have absolutely no regrets, the open kitchen allows us to interact with our guests while we prepare their food and drinks. We cook several times a week and the ample storage helps to keep our tableware, cutleries, appliances, bakeware and tablescaping pieces out of sight. This is where the magic truly happens!
This is our common washroom and the colour theme is black and gold. We have a built-in cabinet with quartz countertop and a wall mirror cabinet that we bought off the shelves. Since this also serves as our guest washroom, we try to make it cosy with a few artificial plants. The wooden washroom sign outside is a playful commercialised take on an otherwise utilitarian space. Afterall, whenever we are at a cafe, we look out for the washroom sign to lead us to the washroom and we love adding that commercial vibes to our home cafe.
This is our finalised floor plan. We have been loving all 93sqm of our home cafe theme 4 Room flat, it’s our safe space and a place where we whip up coffee, tea and meals. We hope you will enjoy our home tour as we share snippets of things that bring us joy and how we plan our home journey as first-time homeowners.
