Hello from @chanceuponchanshome again! Today we’ll share how we achieved a sleek and minimalistic look by concealing these three things in our 4-room BTO flat.
There are many ways to achieve a minimalistic vibe for the house but we chose this way to hide the mess! Daily mess is inevitable and having these concealments have helped us a lot, especially when we come home tired and “just don’t wanna deal with it”. 😂
Firstly, we concealed the bomb shelter! As the bomb shelter serves as a storage room for us, and it is located at the entryway, it was almost mandatory for us to conceal the door.
Secondly, it’s our simple concealed vanity. As we don’t have requirements such as sit-down vanity or walk-in wardrobe, we kept things sleek and opted for a conceal standing vanity.
Once we open the door, we see a half height mirror cabinet which serves as a dressing area and a wardrobe, with hanging pole below!
We also installed a 40cm track socket to enhance functionality and aesthetics. A 40cm track is able to house around 3 sockets comfortably.
Daily skincare and make up items on the bottom level of our mirror cabinet, perfumes and others on the upper levels; all hidden behind the mirror cabinet!
It really makes a lot of difference and sense to have hidden storage for the dressing area because this area tends to be messy! (At least for the Mrs 🤣)
The third thing we concealed at home is an overhead dish rack with flip-up door. I’ve always like the look of a concealed dish rack because plates and bowls may look quite messy when we use them daily. Having a door keeps the kitchen neat and tidy, on the surface.
Daily bowls and plates are mostly on the dish rack for drying purposes. Before it dries out fully, we will need them again. Thus, we only keep dinnerware that are used less frequently into the cabinets. This saves us a lot of time keeping or organising as well.
Since we are going for an overhead dish rack look, we used black tinted glass for a more sleek and modern vibe.
